Clevon and LastMile have agreed to work together to bring 25 driverless delivery robots to Lithuania’s public roads in 2025. This ambitious goal will expand the robot courier delivery service, in addition to Vilnius, to other Lithuanian cities and help IKI Supermarket shoppers receive their online orders in an innovative and environmentally friendly way.
Over the course of 2024, both partners will focus on optimizing the operational framework and enhancing the technological interface for seamless expansion. The initiative to deploy an additional 25 Clevon’s driverless robots will boost efficiency in the delivery ecosystem, catering to the evolving demands of the market, and will help LastMile optimize its operation costs.
The synergy between Clevon’s couriers and LastMile’s white-label online ordering platform is also the cornerstone for further expansion into Europe in 2026. This expansion is planned with a joint partner, REWE Group, and follows the same go-to-market model used in Lithuania.
Reflecting on the collaboration’s progress so far, Tadas Norušaitis, CEO of LastMile, stated, “Our initial successes demonstrate a shared commitment with Clevon towards enhancing delivery efficiency and sustainability. It’s about leveraging technology to better meet our customers’ needs, with both companies aligned in our goals for innovation.”
Sander Sebastian Agur, CEO of Clevon, added, “Seeing our joint efforts come to fruition naturally sets the stage for what’s next. It’s a clear sign that the future of delivery leans heavily on smart, autonomous solutions.”
The previous project between Clevon and LastMile set a benchmark for driverless delivery services. During 136 days of operation, the robotic couriers successfully completed over 500 end-customer deliveries and covered more than 5100 kilometers, all without a single safety incident. This performance earned recognition, with LastMile receiving the “Innovation of the Year” award at the Green Mobility Awards and Clevon securing the “Transport Innovation of the Year” at the Parcel & Postal Technology International Awards 2023.
