indiGO’s European team (formerly Clevon) has partnered with Omniva to pilot driverless last-mile delivery in Estonia. The project deploys fully electric, unmanned delivery vehicles designed for urban logistics, operating in cities including Tallinn and Tartu over a four-month trial period.
Omniva sees the initiative as part of a broader shift in how logistics is defined. “We are not merely a postal operator… we are a technology company shaping the logistics of tomorrow,” said Mart Mägi, CEO of Omniva.
The pilot focuses on real-world operations. Vehicles run on fixed routes, delivering parcels to designated locations such as parcel lockers, while being remotely supervised from a control center. One operator can oversee multiple vehicles at once, allowing continuous movement across the fleet and reducing downtime.
The project also marked a regional milestone with the deployment of the first female teleoperator in the Baltics, supervising the vehicles remotely during the pilot.
“This is a natural next step for us,” Mägi added. “We will test how this technology can improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and speed up delivery.”
The project also reflects a growing shift toward automation driven by economics as much as innovation. “The technology is ready, and the cost is becoming reasonable enough to make it a smart investment,” Mägi said.
For indiGO, the pilot serves as a real-world validation of its systems and operational model. The same team behind these delivery vehicles is now contributing to indiGO’s broader vision of intelligent, software-defined electric vehicles.
If successful, the initiative could expand beyond the pilot phase. “In a few years, these vehicles will likely become a normal part of everyday life in the Baltics,” Mägi said.
