LEUVEN, Belgium / March 31, 2026 – indiGO Technologies, Inc. (trade name “GO”), announced the deployment of GO Bots on public roads in Leuven, Belgium. The unmanned electric vehicles will be used by Collect&Go (owned by Colruyt Group) to deliver groceries directly to customers in the city centre from mid-May through August. Residents within the service area will be able to benefit from home delivery at the lowest prices, carried out by the vehicle.
This deployment builds on indiGO’s earlier operations in Belgium in 2023, where unmanned delivery was first introduced on public roads under controlled conditions. The Leuven pilot marks the next phase, moving from fixed routes to dynamic, real-world urban delivery in a live city environment.
Tom De Prater, Director at Collect&Go, explains the motivation behind introducing an unmanned vehicle in the city:
“Online grocery shopping is a key pillar for Colruyt Group, and our ambition is to remain best-in-class, as we have been for over 25 years. In a rapidly evolving e-commerce landscape, we continuously look for ways to organise the last mile as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The cost of these final kilometres is high, and urban mobility presents challenges. Investing in innovation and creative solutions is crucial and is part of Colruyt Group’s DNA.”
“This deployment is a strong validation of where the industry is heading,” said Will Graylin, CEO of indiGOtech. “As we transition from traditional vehicles to EVs and ultimately autonomous vehicles, it requires a fundamentally new vehicle architecture. Lightweight, purpose-built vehicles like GO Bots are designed for this shift, enabling more efficient and scalable delivery in urban environments.”
GO Bots are compact, fully electric unmanned delivery vehicles purpose-built for last-mile logistics. The vehicles have been operating on public roads for over five years across multiple industries globally, working with partners such as DHL, DPD, KFC, and REWE Group, accumulating thousands of miles and consistently demonstrating safe, reliable performance in real-world urban environments.
With a maximum speed of 16 mph, safety remains the top priority. Each vehicle is equipped with multiple cameras to monitor its surroundings, along with short- and long-range radar systems capable of detecting obstacles such as cars, cyclists, and pedestrians. Local authorities are also involved along the route to support safe operation.
The vehicles are continuously supervised by a remote teleoperator, with the ability to take control at any time. Connectivity is enabled through Telenet’s 5G network, providing fast, stable, and secure communication between the vehicle and operator. This ensures real-time visibility of the traffic environment and reliable exchange of video, sensor data, and control signals throughout the delivery process.
